The UKBCCI hosted a meeting at its offices with a delegation from the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) on 11th May, where the UKBCCI President Bajloor Rashid MBE met with BEZA’s Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury.

At the UKBCCI Board meeting on April 18th, there was a great deal of excitement as the Directors including Bajloor Rashid MBE, unanimously agreed to start the process of setting up a Bangladesh region. Further details of its progression will be made available in the coming months. A date was also set for the next Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards which will take place on October 15th 2017 at the London Hilton – Park Lane.

​A courtesy meeting took place between the UKBCCI Directors and Dr A K Abdul Momen, former Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. 1st January 2017.

​As President of the UKBCCI, Bajloor was involved in the organisation of a special Trade and Investment DInner, encouraging trade relations between the UK and Bangladesh. Amongst those who attended were, Trade Envoy to Bangladesh, Rushanara Ali and the honorable chief guest His Excellency, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mr Md Abdul Hannan.

In his capacity as president of the UKBCCI, Bajloor and the other directors were recently proud to have set up a memorandum of understanding between the FBCCI and the UKBCCI. A great working relationship ensues.

The UKBCCI Directors recently had a very productive meeting with the FBCCI president, Mr Matlub Ahmed at FBCCI headquarters in Dhaka. The president of UKBCCI Bajloor Rashid MBE along with fellow Directors were present at the meeting.

The UKBCCI were honoured to spend some time with Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, the founder and chairman of BRAC.
The UKBCCI were there as special guests and as guest speakers too.

We celebrated with a delicious cake.

Bajloor attended a meeting about establishing The Heart Hospital in Moulvi Vajar, Bangladesh.  The meeting was held in the Pride of Asia Restaurant , in London.

Bajloor attended the First Roadshow and launch of the Catering Circle on wed 29/04/15.  There will be several roadshow shown on a Live TV talk show on Channel S to find solutions to the problems within the Curry Industry.  Bajloor was a panel speaker.

Bajloor Rashid attending ITV Berlin's tourism fair, the largest one of its kind in the world. During the three day exhibition, he represented Tiger Tours Ltd promoting them to attendees-March 2015.

Bajloor and his UKBCCI colleagues met with the Deputy British High Commissioner and UKTI Director over lunch in Dhaka - 29th September 2014

Bajloor supported the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for the Barking and Dagenham constituency, Mina Rahman. He also gave a speech to the many politicians, community leaders, Lords and Baroness' who were in attendance. This fund raising event took place on 28th March 2014.

Whilst Chairman of Progressive Life Insurance, Bajloor chaired a number of board meetings in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2014.

"After 14 months distress, I finally won the case!  On the eve of the trial, the UKBA withdrew their penalty notice and paid all of my expenses".

Channel S Television Awards 2013

At the recent Channel S Awards in London, Bajloor Rashid MBE was presented with the award for Business Personality of the Year 2013. He was recognised for his all round business performance, his contribution to the advancement of the British Bangladeshi Community and his overall leadership.

Bajloor Rashid MBE gave a speech, at the BCA organised  reception, to welcome the arrival of the New High Commissioner of Bangladesh to UK, H E Mohammed Mijarul Quayes. 7/2/2013

Commenting on the event Bajloor said, “ It was an honour to welcome our New High Commisioner of Bangladesh to the uk.  I have high expectations of his work with us and hope that he will both advise and assist us, in our endeavour to further develop the business relationship between Bangladesh and the UK 

Bajloor Rashid MBE was honoured by the Bangladesh Caterers Association from Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire on 29th January 2013, where he was presented with a Crest in recognition of his exemplary work and dedication to the Association and the Curry Industry in general.

The UKBCCI met with the Honourable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh His Excellency Md. Abdul Hamid on 27th April 2017 at the London Hilton Park Lane.

Present from the UKBCCI were President Bajloor Rashid MBE along with directors including Barrister Anawar Babul Miah and Oli Khan.

UKBCCI leaders & BCA (Bangladesh Caterers Association) leaders jointly presented a flower bouquet to His Excellency.

The UKBCCI inaugural Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2016 and Gala Dinner was held at the London Hilton Park Lane, on Sunday 20th November. The UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) announced its full list of winners at the prestigious ceremony.

​

In the presence of over 800 guests, made up of dignitaries, VIPs, MPs and prominent members of the business community, the UKBCCI handed out the awards to a well-deserving list of nominees covering the spectrum of entrepreneurship.

​Bajloor Rashid MBE – President of the UKBCCI, was a guest on the panel of the TV Talk Show ‘Catering Circle’ on Channel S (Tuesday 4th October). Topics discussed were the ongoing issues with immigration in the UK, the staff crisis and recruitment.
The Catering Circle is a talk show in the presence of a live audience. Each episodes examines current issues facing the industry. The show takes place in major cities around the UK.

For 2016, the BB (British Bangladeshi) Power 100 List, have recognised Bajloor in the Networks and Associations category for his work as President of the UKBCCI.

Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Mr Abrar A. Anwar, CEO, of Standard Chartered Bank, Mr Khondker M. Talha, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the UK, along with other senior officers from Standard Chartered Bank visited the UKBCCI office London in September.

The UKBCCI had a major road show event in the East Midlands, held at the prestigious Raj restaurant in Kettering, Northants. The event was of particular interest as it highlighted the second year of the organisation and where there's a celebration there's a cake! 

The Raj Restaurant in Kettering certainly gave Bajloor and other Directors a kind welcome. 

Bajloor attended the Catering Circle’s 2nd Road Show at Bia Lounge, Birmingham on 19/05/15.  He was a selected speaker to talk about the competition within the curry industry.

The 2015 British Bangladeshi Business Awards was held at The New Bingley Hall in Birmingham on the 11th March 2015.

Bajloor and four other UKBCCI colleagues, including Iqbal Ahmed OBE, attended. An audience of 1500 people were there from British and Bangladeshi communities.

Prime Minister David Cameron was chief guest speaker. In his speech he mentioned Bajloor's contribution to the UK.

Whilst Chairman of Progressive Life Insurance, Bajloor chaired a number of board meetings in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2014.

Launching the UKBCCI in Bangladesh from the 15th-17th April 2014, delegates including Bajloor met ministers, many government officials, the FBCCI and DCCI. At this three day launch the UKBCCI also had the opportunity to meet the British High Commissioner, the European Union and many other business dignitaries

Bajloor featured on a cover of a Magazine called Arthokanto in Bangladesh published in May 2015.  It covered a special feature story on investment in Bangladesh.

Bajloor alongside the current BCA President Pasha Khandaker and BCA Secretary M A Munim, greeted the Chief Guest Speaker, Justine Greening MP- Secretary of State for International Development.

 Bajloor also had the pleasure of presenting an honour award to Stephen Timms MP- former MP & Minister Michael Foster, gratefully received it on his behalf.

​On 1st September 2013 following their Annual General Meeting, Bajloor was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Progressive Life Insurance Company.

A surprise party was arranged for Bajloor and Ripa’s 25th (silver) Wedding Anniversary on

10th April 2013.

Bajloor Rashid MBE was a speaker at the reception for the new Bangladeshi High Commissioner in the UK & six newly elected Directors of the BBCC.
